• We are eternal beings. We are going to spend eternity in heaven or hell.
• You cannot pursue God’s presence without God’s presence pursuing you.” Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• You cannot go after God without God delivering you.

Hosea 10:2
2Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
• Sow to yourselves and break up fallow ground so that the Word of God can be planted.
• You cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results - that is called insanity. We need to break up fallow ground.

II Chronicles 7:14
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
• CCC will begin a 10-day fast September 19 through September 28, 2010.
o We will fast each day until 6:00 p.m.
o You may consume light liquids.
o We are seeking God’s face.
• Humble means to bend the knees.
o The time we fast there is no sex.
o We are here to stand in the gap and seek His face (not His hands).
o We need to get rid of sins and secret sins.
• “Heal the land” includes our spouses, children, finances, body, etc.
• Once you get it right with God, God makes it right with you.
• If you want something you have never had before, you must do something you have not done before.

Matthew 26:36-42
36Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

• Flesh never wants to cooperate with God.
• G12 is about surrendering to the will of God.

G12 Life Group Notes– September 12, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• God intended us to be our brother’s keeper. We should not let a brother or sister get saved and then have to fight the force of Satan by themselves.
• We must have the spirit of G12 otherwise, we will make excuses.
• There is a difference between knowing the mechanics, verses having the spirit. For example, there is a spirit in giving; however, you can make it mechanical.
• The one who has the spirit is the one that is going to be blessed.

Genesis 4:1-8
1And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

• Verse 3, “in the process of time” means God had told them what to do. Abel had the spirit.

Hebrews 11:4
4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 12:1-4
1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

• Joy came to Jesus when He caught the spirit.
• “Despising the shame” Jesus was able to think lightly of His sacrifice because He had the spirit and understood what God had for Him.
• When we get the spirit of G12, we will not consider it drudgery.

I Samuel 30:1-8
1And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 7And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

• The enemy fights people that are trying to do right.
• Some time people think because they are saved they will not have problems.
• God’s Word says He will never leave us or forsake us.
• David was out doing good and when he returned everything was gone (wives, children, etc.).
• We need to give God glory even when things do not look good.
• Verse 4 shows sorrow and pain.
• In the midst of the greatest pain in life, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God (verse 6).
• David went to his priest who gave him the ephod. At that time one did not enter the presence of God without the ephod which is a sacred vest.
• Verse 8 David received a word from God. God could not talk to David without David encouraging himself first because he would have been angry.

John 17:15
15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
• We need to ask ourselves where we are. Someone should be able to see where our hope is by our actions.
• If we are going through a battle, we need to know where we are in our faith walk.

Isaiah 49:13
13Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Psalm 34:19
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
• God will deliver us from afflictions.

Story of Rahab in Joshua chapter 2, the Bible tells the story of Rahab, a prostitute who live in Jericho who hid the two spies sent by Joshua to gain knowledge of the land. Rahab trusted God and had faith. God delivered Rahab and her family from death.

G12 Life Group Notes– August 29, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• When we are being afflicted, God has mercy on us. You can expect that mercy to come fast.
• When we go through afflictions we come out stronger and are able to help others.
• Many are the afflictions, if you don’t learn lessons from situations, you are bound to repeat them.

Jeremiah 2:24-27
24A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her. 25Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go. 26As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. 27Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
• Sometimes people bring trouble upon themselves.
• Many want to blame God for their problems when it is their fault.
• When we sow bad seeds or do wrong, God will forgive us. However, forgiveness of sin does not wipe away the seed that has been sown. We will still reap the harvest that has been sown. Stupidity has a price.
• We must try to sow as much good seed as possible.

Jonah 2:1-10
1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, 2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. 3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. 10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
• When we are going through something, we need to hear God’s voice.
• Some things are brought upon us through no fault of our own, and some things are caused by us.
• Often we forget that we caused our own problems or affliction.
• We don’t want God to get busy preparing a fish for us. Through Jonah’s ordeal he changed his attitude and worshipped God.
• Our attitude, disposition, and outlook will determine how quickly we are going to get out of a situation.
• Everything can change when we change.
• We must always bless the one who created heaven and earth.

• When we witness to people, our follow up is time sensitive because we are in spiritual warfare.

Proverbs 13:12-13
12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. 13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

• People are discouraged and many have a dismal spirit.
• Satan is using a poor job market and delay to trip people up.
• It will not be dismal for those that serve the King of Kings and the Kingdom.
• There is spiritual warfare and we must stay focused on the Kingdom.
• Four stages that people go through: decision, change, transition, and transformation.
• The ability to go through the transition (wilderness) stage is where people face the biggest challenge.
• Transformation is the final stage and represents the promise land.
• Transition is only a temporary thing for those of us who walk by faith and not by sight.
• When we are going through transition the enemy will fight our ability to stay in the Word.
• The enemy tries to make us look at the circumstances.

Exodus 14:7-15
7And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. 8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand. 9But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. 10And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. 11And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
.
• The children of Israel left Egypt with a spirit of boldness and their fist raised in defiance.
• They had strong confidence and boldness which they had not had in 450 years.
• It took 10 curses for God to defeat Pharaoh.
• Egypt represents Satan. None of us are exempt from satanic attacks because we are not yet transformed or where God wants us to be.

G12 Life Group Notes– August 22, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• Anytime you have confidence, Satan will attack you.
• Pharaoh took his greatest army to attack the Israelites. They fell back into doubt and unbelief after being confident.
• Verse 11 and 12 demonstrate how the children of Israel let their circumstance talk to them. They tell Moses that they would rather serve Egypt or Satan. Question: Did the circumstance change God’s ability to perform? Answer: No.
• When bad circumstances show up, it is easy to fall back if no one is there to provide support.
• It is important that we read our Bible each day and attend our church services.
• Our families and those that depend upon us are at stake.
• You can never help someone get out of their situation without first dealing with fear. Fear is an obstacle that holds people back.
• Verse 13 shows the transition from fear to faith. We must look at situations that God has delivered us from and have faith that He can and will do it again.
• Fear is a major weapon. Question: Can God still do it again? Answer: Yes, He can.
• Moses did not know everything. He had faith in God.
• God was prohibited from doing everything He wanted to do because the children of Israel were not moving forward in faith.
• We must move forward.
• There is nothing gained in standing still.
• Faith is always moving.

• Quit being a reservoir and start being a stream. We must share the gospel and not just keep it to ourselves.
• We should be reaching out and having picnics and inviting our friends, neighbors, and the unsaved. We should encourage our G12 disciples to attend and invite their friends that are unsaved.
• We need to be more aggressive in our witnessing. If we have a mediocre attitude we will have mediocre results.
• We should pray each day that the fruits of the spirit will be in operation in our lives.
• A good man/woman’s footsteps are ordered by God.

Luke 16:10
10He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
• The enemy fights men/women’s faithfulness.
• We must be faithful to God, men, women, friends, our jobs, church, etc.
• Men/women have a hard time submitting.
• Being faithful does not go without being contested.
• Satan is unfaithful.
• We must spend time in God’s Word and presence so we are successful in fighting the enemy.
• The Word must be cultivated within us. You have to fight to remain faithful.
• Faithfulness is an attribute of God.
• God holds faithfulness at a high standard.
• When we are faithful, it is a big thing to God, although we might see it as a small thing.

Proverbs 25:19 19Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
Proverbs 20:6
6Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? You can be good in a lot of things in life. The key question is can you be faithful?
• Can you separate faithful from integrity? The answer is no.

Deuteronomy 7:9
9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
• God is faithful and merciful.

Psalm 36:5 5Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
Psalms 89:1 1I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
I Corinthians 1:9
9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
• God is faithful, reliable, trustworthy, and ever true to His promises. He can be depended upon.
• Satan is unfaithful. He tries to get everyone to be unfaithful like him.

Proverbs 25:19

Luke 16: 10 -12
• We should protect ourselves from unfaithful men/women.
• We should make sure that we are not one of them.
• Sometimes we will try to building something around someone who is unfaithful.
• Unfaithful men/women make excuses.
• When we are unfaithful, God can’t use us like he desires.
• Being faithful is showing up on time or ahead of time.

Proverbs 20:6
• Some men/women can talk and give a good resume, but what we need is results.

2 Timothy 2:1-2
• You cannot count on the unfaithfulness.

1 Corinthian 4:2
• Being faithful demands a level of sacrifice.
• Our first faithfulness and commitment must be to God. Second our spouse. Third our children. Fourth to our Church. Fifth to our job.
• All of the aforementioned demand faithfulness and sacrifice.
• We cannot demand something of someone else if we are not modeling it ourselves.
• When we are living like we are suppose to live, we inspire dreams.
• The biggest motivator for men/women is desire.
• Your faithfulness will always be challenged.
• Faithfulness is an attribute of God.
• Unfaithfulness is an attribute of Satan.
• Being unfaithful destroys relationships.
• We must talk to our G12 men/women about being faithful.
• Every one of us has to demonstrate that someone can trust us.

1 Corinthian 1:9
• God is faithful, reliable, trust worthy, ever true to his promises or his word.
• God can be depended upon. By him we have partnership and relationship.

Matthew 26:8
8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
• Sacrifice is different than reasonable service.
• God is prompting us to do something that is over and above what we would normally do.
• Most Christians will not even do reasonable service, for example, witnessing, tithing, etc.
• When you commit to becoming a successful G12 leader, it is a sacrifice. You open your home, call and visit.
• God is calling us to sacrifice.
• Sacrifice is always linked to a great reward.
• God is not going to bless you the way He wants to when you are just operating at a mediocre level.
• We must never cry about sacrificing.
• The disciples had indignation because they were unwilling to sacrifice on the level that the woman with the alabaster box demonstrated.
• You can be around spiritual people that have never made a sacrifice.

Luke 21:1-4
1And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
• Sacrifice is a big word for big people.
• People that do not want to sacrifice will talk against you sacrificing.
• Our blessings come from us stretching ourselves.
• A rubber band will not reach its potential until it is stretched.
• When we have an opportunity to give our finances, time or talent, we should not be complacent.
• Sacrifice never goes unrewarded.
• If we want big things to happen, we need to do something big.

Acts 4:34-35
34Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
• The people made sacrifice. Sacrifice is not the norm, it is the unusual.
• We need to ask God to call us to sacrifice.
• The devil hates sacrifice.
• When God asks us to do something, He is preparing to bless us.

READING from “Successful Leadership through the Government of 12”
By Cesar Castellanos

• Fruitfulness will not be realized without our taking ownership.
• Along with work, there is also a need for us to sacrifice.
• Lots of work takes place before the harvest comes in.

Exodus 36:5
• So many things are going wrong in the world today, how much time do you think we have?
• Jesus commanded us to witness, make disciples, and build his Church. How many of us are doing God’s work?
• Every one of us can bring someone new to Church each Sunday.

1 Kings 17:13
• God was demanding sacrifice. You cannot make sacrifice without God blessing you.
• God honors our sacrifice. For example, when we go out witnessing.

Matt 26:39
• Even Jesus had to sacrifice. He had to get pass his will. The will does not want us to do a lot of things.
• “The blessings don’t come to he that sitteth, but he that gets off the couch”
- Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• The road paved with gold is paved with sacrifice.
• God never asks us to sacrifice without a great blessing.
• Sacrifice is a principle. When you work a principle, the principle will work for you.
• People want things without sacrifice.
• When you make sacrifice and are around others who don’t or are unwilling, they will attempt to criticize and put you down.
• God wants you to work hard for his Kingdom and he will work hard for you.

Matt 26 6-10
• The alabaster box was very valuable and was used for burial.
• The woman loved and appreciated Jesus because he had saved her.
• The disciples had indignation because they were not prepared to make the kind of sacrifice that she made.
• Jesus let the disciples know that sacrifice was a good work.
• Love, appreciation, and thankfulness should drive you to sacrifice, not what you expect to get.
• We must be willing to make sacrifices for the Kingdom.
• The people of God must be willing to change.
