Calvary Christian Center
G-12 Administration – Life Notes
Pastor: Phillip G. Goudeaux
May 01, 2011
“Pursue, Overtake, and Recover All”
“Fighting Off Discouragement”

I Samuel 30:1-9 Exodus 14:9

• Loyalty – Dedication – Covenant: Where have these things gone?

• At some point in your life – You have to stand your ground

• You can not let everybody persuade you to go the opposite direction

• The number one tactic the devil is using today against Christians is: discouragement

• The devil is doing everything he can to discourage those who have put their faith and confidence in God

• He wants to knock you out the park – Because he does not want your life to bring glory and honor to God

• If you will just stand on the word and keep doing what God wants you to do

• God will show up on your behalf and people will see the Glory of God on your life

• The enemy knows that God requires your faith – That is why he tries to break your focus

• Discouragement: To be drained of courage – Wanting to give up because it’s hard

• The enemy wants to rob you of courage

• He wants you to give up the fight – He wants you to operate in sense-knowledge - Not faith

• This life is about fighting – It’s about standing for what you know is right – Not giving in

• When you’re in a battle, there are two truths that you need to know:

1. Your battle is always for a reason (there is something you need to learn)
2. Your battle is always for a season (it’s not going to be forever, it comes to an end)

• Find out what the reason is

• As soon as you get a victory – The devil will still come after you

• The devil is a pursuer

• Why would you start crying when God has just brought you out – Gave you a victory?

• You have to stay in faith and talk the language of faith

• Speak the word – Because the word gives God legal rights to get involved in your situation

• Stop crying and start celebrating – Because now you will get to see another victory

• The devil is not smart because he keeps coming back – But he keeps getting defeated

• Ten things you need to know when you are dealing with the Spirit of Discouragement:

1. Think on what God has already done in your life (Exodus 13:3)
2. See God bigger than your problem
3. You have to have faith in what God says (Numbers 23:19)
4. Say what God says about your problem
5. Fellowship with encouragers – Not discouragers

“The lack of Integrity opens the door for satan to come in your life
and frustrate your purpose” Pastor Phillip G. Goudeaux

John 12:3-7
3Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, 5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

“Integrity is like excellence, excellence is not a destination, it’s a journey
Integrity is the same, Integrity is not a destination; it’s a journey” Dr. P.G. Goudeaux

• You must keep raising the bar to achieve excellence
• Integrity is the opposite of the flesh
• Integrity allows God’s perfect will to be manifested in your life
• Lack of integrity stops the will of God from being manifested
• Everybody is not able to reach/attain the same level of integrity
• Remember you must be repentant to break the cycle
• Some attend church and never experience God’s glory
• Change your heart ….. change your life

“You’ll never be hurt doing right; you’ll always get hurt doing wrong” Dr. P.G. Goudeaux

• You can’t break the principles of God and get away with it.
• Moral values have drastically changed
• Integrity is the way to God’s best all the time
• If you want God’s best, go after integrity
• Integrity is a daily decision
• Integrity opens the door and causes blessings
• Once you commit yourself to integrity, then surround yourself with others that have integrity

“Here is a Big Issue – Integrity carries the weight. The more integrity an individual can handle the more blessings”

• God manifests himself through integrity
• If it’s not happening for you, then go back and check yourself

Proverbs 24:10
10If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

• Can you pass the test?

I Corinthians 10:13
13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

• God will not suffer you above that ye are able
• Recognize where you are and be honest about it
• More men today are challenged than ever before
• If there is no integrity in the head (of the household), then there is none in the body
• Job said he made a covenant with his eyes or his greatest fight is through integrity

God’s Word is Integrity

• How much word do you read (daily)?
• How many scriptures can you quote?
• How much word have you memorized?
• Nothing in, nothing out!
• Memorize at least a scripture a day
• Pray for your brother to walk in integrity daily and not give up

Integrity Is A Choice
• Integrity demands change
• Integrity may change
1. Habits
2. Relationships
3. Words
4. Actions
5. Environment

A Commitment To Integrity Is An Overall Action Of Your Life
• Make a commitment to integrity daily
• You can become a slouch if integrity is not maintained
• Remind yourself that integrity is a requirement
• Integrity and marriage are synonymous
• It’s not your entrance –It’s your exit that determines your legacy
• Many can not grasp the true integrity of the Man of God
• Because of their perception of the Man of God
• Integrity begins at home
• Integrity must be above reproach

I Timothy 3:1-3
1This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, or good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous.

• When we leave this life, we have two options
• You can be known as great or not great
• Sober minded is not letting fears overtake you
• You must be focused

I Peter 5:7-9
7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

• If you can not fight off the cares, the cares will fight you off
• When you walk in integrity, it is threatening to those who don’t
• You should not be bound by additions, violet, nor greedy for gain or power
• When you have the proper balance, gain and power will follow after you
• Most people are drivers, so we must be careful not to have greed
• Or it will be your demise

Integrity
By Pastor Phillip G. Goudeaux
• Every problem is a wisdom problem
• Everybody is seeking for peace.
• GOD wants us to be connected, just like Adam was.
• You will never advance pass your last act of disobedience

Read in NKJV Genesis 4:7 Sin! “And its desire is for you.”

1) Integrity allows GOD’s perfect will to be manifested in your life.
2) Integrity is the way to GOD’s best.
3) Integrity is a decision, choose to walk in Integrity, everyday!

Job 2:1-10 Verse 3- hold fast to integrity.

Holdfast defined- embrace tightly, hold it down, take control, dominate, sit on it so it doesn’t slip away, do everything you can. Verse 9- Still hold fast. Verse 10-Job did Not sin. You have to fight for commitment. God blessed Job “double.”

Genesis 22:1-14 Verse 14- Jehovah Jireh.

 We’re not waiting on GOD, GOD is waiting on us!
 Everyday we need to know GOD is a GOD of Integrity.
 Settle it in your heart.
 Have faith, confidence, integrity & trust in GOD.

“When you find enough Integrity to obey GOD, then you will find how full of Integrity GOD is for you.” Dr.Phillip G. Goudeaux

This is the principal of substitution/exchange. GOD wants us to have enough faith in & for HIM.

Moral Soundness - Purity - Honesty

• God’s word is the standard by which integrity is judged

Genesis 20:1- 6
1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. 2And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. 3But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife. 4But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation? 5Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. 6And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

• Integrity will preserve you in the midst of many situations
• Integrity speaks
• God is integrity
• “Walk it our” a constant consciousness
• Integrity works with constant sacrifice

Minister to the cause not the need

Deuteronomy 30:19
19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

• Integrity is a matter of choice
• Integrity holds you to God’s standards
• Either you or God must remove road blocks that keep you from integrity
• It is a life decision

Proverbs 11:3
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

• Integrity will guide you
• It will move you away from some people

G12 Life Group Notes– February 20, 2011–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

I Kings 9:1- 5
1And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do. 2That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. 3And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hollowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 4And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: 5Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

Proverbs 20:7
7The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

• God’s promise is based upon your integrity.
• Integrity will lift you up
• Lack of integrity will bring you down
• You must fight to walk in integrity if you want to make it,

 Everybody needs standards. If you do not have standards then there is nothing to measure yourself against or by.

INTEGRITY

I Kings 13:7-10
7And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward. 8And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place: 9For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest. 10So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.

• Integrity demands you to stay true to the command.
• It will not always look like the way to go, but it pays off in the long run.
• The key to experiencing the kind of success that is worth having, forces you to question and analyze your situations before making a decision.
• Integrity is the process of discerning right from wrong, then doing what you know to be right.
• People do not always act on what they know to do that is right, but integrity pushes you in that direction.
• Integrity guides you to know what the truth is by compelling you to act on what is right.
• What distinguishes a person of integrity is that they routinely act on what they know to be right.
• Integrity is not some one time deal, it is a lifelong process. Something that you do all the time.

Ethics, Character, and Integrity
• Character refers to moral strength, self discipline, fortitude or good reputation. It is what enables you to act on what your integrity guides you to believe is right.
• Ethics is a system of moral standards or values that is a foundation for your actions or simply what you govern yourself by.
• It is not until you combine morals and character with your ethics is when you become a person of integrity. A person who is guided to do what is right.
• If you have morals, ethics, and character you can say that you choose to do so. Made a commitment to do what is right with the three combined.

Proverbs 28:7
7 Whoso keepth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father

• Integrity, keeping your word even when it’s hard to do.
• Leadership is always the problem and the answer.
• It’s easy to keep your integrity when it’s easy.
• You never know who God is putting in your life to challenge your integrity.
• Your attitude will lead to your next promotion

Psalms 26
1Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. 2Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. 4I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. 5I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. 6I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD: 7That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. 8LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. 9Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: 10In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. 11But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. 12My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.

• Our men/women have to have a good baptism in integrity.
• People are looking for those who will maintain a high standard.
• We need to keep raising the bar.
• We must watch our mouths and not participate in any derogatory actions.
• We need to intercede, David “waited” with high expectations.

Psalms 26:1
1Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

• Temptation will come, but we must trust in God.

Psalms 26:11
11But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

• If you really want to please God, you must be a man/woman of integrity.

G12 Life Group Notes– January 23, 2011–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Genesis 39:1-15
1And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. 2And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. 5And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. 6And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. 7And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; 9There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? 10And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. 11And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. 12And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out. 13And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth, 14That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice: 15And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.

• When you walk in integrity people will see how God has blessed you.
• Joseph’s integrity kept him from sinning.
• Potiphar’s wife was after Joseph; however, Joseph honored his master and God by not yielding to temptation.
• Integrity will be tested.
• Once you pass one integrity test another test will come.
• Passing the integrity test will promote you to the next level.
