The Value Shift
Luke 14:17-23 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
• Verse 17 - “ Bade many” defined as - to command, to order, to direct
• Verse 18- 20 - They made excuses..
• Verse 21 – The master got angry and said “Go out quickly”
• You must have a sense of urgency
• Leadership is necessary - Now!
• Prisons are a money maker and they can be privately owned
• Being institutionalized is a mindset
• Some families have had four generations of men imprisoned
• Leadership is needed to raise men
Understand that the enemy fights hard to keep you from seeing the urgency of raising men. You need to see urgency for preservation. Men need to be an anchor to other men.
• Verse 21 – “GO Out Quickly (Command, Order, Direct) Now! and Bring”
• Verse 22 – There is room - Go!
• Verse 23 – Go and compel (urge) them - Urge is to have urgency
• Force, Drive, Subdue, Push and Influence them to come in
• Every church should be filled every day the doors are opened
• You should have a need to bring out more chairs

Recognize A Value Shift Is Necessary
• It’s about the kingdom
• Selfishness is a hindrance
• You are born selfish and must work your way out
Matthew 16:13-22 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
• Christ had to get the disciples to shift
• Verse 15 – It’s not until you know who He is
• Verse 18 – Upon this “revelation”
• Verse 18 – Gates of hell will prevail if you don’t shift
• When you make the shift, there are no more barriers/limitations
• Verse 20 – He charged his disciples
• Verse 22 – Peter (who had a revelation) now rebuked Christ
• The more you recognize, the more you can build
• Some people don’t make the shift
• It’s not because there is a lack of passion
• It’s because there is a need for greater motivation

Your mind must be strong to deal with the flesh
Mark 14:12-13 12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
• Verse 12: His disciples
• Verse 13: His disciples
• Self (flesh) is the only thing that will stop you from following Him
• Zechariah - I will not give anything that doesn’t cost me something…
Giving is surrendering and recognition
It’s all development
It’s about graduating

The Three Steps to Leadership

The Three Steps of Leadership: Following, Serving, and Leading
John 1:41-43 (KJV)
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
FOLLOWING: There are 3 revelations
• 1st revelation: verse 41…He findeth his own brother—Witnessing should begin in your family first!
• 2nd revelation: verse 42…….He brought him to Jesus—You should bring them the church
• 3rd revelation verse 43… he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas,--Once you bring them to church—God will have a word for them!
LEADERSHIP: Verse 43: “Follow me” Is the 1st stage of Leadership
Matthew 4:18-22(KJV)
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
Value Shift—causes you to see what is more preeminent in your life
• Gods plan and purpose is for you to be a great successful leader
• Each level of leadership brings another level of values being shifted
• You won’t see the sacrifice that needs to be made unless your values have shifted
• He is shifting their value from fishing for fish to fishing for men!
Vs 18-19
• If you are going to be remembered, it will be because of your value shift
• The higher your values, the greater the sacrifice you will have to make
• The higher your values, the greater your character
• verses 20 shows: they recognized that following Jesus was more important than anything else
• When you as a leader can help people to recognize that…..that’s when “thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”
• If you can help people shift their values….they will immediately follow
• You must shift with God, if you will shift, you must start it with “prayer”
Matthew 9:9 (KJV)
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
• Homework: Find out the revelation on following Jesus that Clarence McClendon spoke about when he was at CCC
• Value Shift brings you to sacrifice and to another level. Your values must shift
• Follow me. And he arose, and followed him…they followed him immediately
• There was a way that Jesus presented it to them, that made them immediately follow him
• Have a greater commitment to the Vision and to G-12
• When you step up your game…..God will step up His game
• If you can’t do your meeting, you should have raised up a leader to do the meeting for you
• G-12 is every week, Life groups can be once, twice, or three times. If you don’t have a G-12 you can do your life group every week!
Luke 5:10-11(KJV)
10And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
• People want promotion without a value shift
• Your values have to be elevated in order for you to be elevated—it’s a kingdom principal!
• When it comes to giving, their values have not been shifted
• The biggest challenge with moving into another value shift is fighting the spirit of fear!
• They were in partnership with Him: James, John, the sons of Zebedee
• If you are going to be remembered, it will be because of the lives you affected as a result of your value shift

When reaching out to others, speak plainly without lingo
Constantly outreaching
Direct individuals to your Open Life Group
When they produce , you can promote them to your Close G12 Group
Individuals who continually miss meetings are non-committed and must move out of the way for others to join your Close G12 Group
Luke 13:6-9
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
He came seeking in his vineyard, He found none
God wants abundant fruit
You have no rights without producing fruit
Don’t waste your time,
“Cut it down”- Use drugs / fertilizer
It’s got to produce
Luke 13:7 (amplified)
7 So he said to the vinedresser, See here! For these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree and I find none. Cut it down! Why should it continue also to use up the ground [to [a]deplete the soil, intercept the sun, and take up room]?.
It wastes the ground
Depletes the soil
Intercepts the sun
Takes up room

“You are accountable to your prayers” Dr. Phillip G. Goudeaux
• You must change your mindset first
• Then change the culture of the church
• Create new ways to evangelize
• Use opportunities like get-togethers at home
• You have to become Pastor’s mouthpiece
• Peter got “afar off” and later denied Christ as the cock crowed thrice
• You never get the blessing “afar off” – So follow Pastor and support him
• Mentorship brings transformation – It’s a process
Romans 8:29
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
• God’s plan is for you to be conformed to the image of Christ
• There is a major war for souls
• Develop your G-12 by having a Life Group
• Then use your Life Group as a feeder into your Closed Group
• Choose people that are fruitful and not those who are just faithful
• They must be productive to be in your G-12
Psalm 133:1
133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

• How good and pleasant it is to dwell together in Vision
• Focus on the vision of G-12
• WIN - CONSOLIDATE - DISCIPLE - SEND

UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF G-12 LIFE GROUPS AND LIFE GROUPS
KEY WORDS for Life Groups for 2013!!!!
QUALITY OF MINISTRY AND MINISTRY OF EXCELLENCE
We want to raise the level of our Life Groups and operate with Excellence in Ministry
Acts 2:44-47
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
• Many of you don’t recognized the value and importance of your involvement in Life Groups
• Pastor Goudeaux is not raising up a congregation - His vision is to raise up Leaders
• There is a plan for everyone who comes into the church
• The plan is to raise you up as a leader so you can help build the Kingdom of God
• You are not here by accident
• You have been drawn to CCC by God’s divine plan to make you a Leader
• Always remember that you are leading people in some capacity
• Pastor wants to pull out or stir up in you the gifting and talents necessary for leadership
• There is a strategic plan designed to raise and develop you into a Leader
• The Pathway classes are the beginning process of leadership development
• A major challenge is: people don’t see themselves as a Leader, as important or as being valuable – So they never give back what God has put inside of them
• All of you are valuable and have much to offer the Kingdom of God
• The experience you have in the different areas of life is used to help make a difference in another person’s life
• Your whole life should be about giving, not about receiving
• At the end of this life journey - You should have touched and influenced many people
• Within the Life Groups – You can draw on your wisdom and experience in order to help other people on their journey
• God will help you as you help others
• Sometimes when you are hurting and need someone to minister to you
G12 Life Group Notes– January 20, 2013 – 6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux _(Con’t)_
• God will have you help someone else and He will heal you in the process
• Life is not about existing – It is about giving out of what God has given you
• A sad thing about the church is – It is growing inwardly but not outwardly
• Therefore, the church is dying
• Life Groups are out in the communities, in the neighborhoods, and at places of employment, making a difference and bringing life to the world
• That is the reason you should not have your Life Group at the church
• Life Groups are supposed to be evangelistic - Outside of the four walls
• You should be the person in your neighborhood spear heading the events

The Renewing of the Mind
"Be One in Christ"
John3:19,20
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
• Everyone that practices evil hates light
• Those that doth truth come to the light
• Men need accountability
• Growth develops leadership - That's a true leader
• Some have principle - But lack passion
• Run with the vision and your deeds will follow
• In your life group, transformation needs to take place.
John 17:1-10
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
• Judas was identified by his likeness of Jesus
• You must glorify GOD on the earth
Matthew 6:9-10
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
• Acknowledge our Father (hallow His name)
• His will be done
• Teach your G12 to bring the manifestation of GOD into their lives
• keep in mind when forming your G12
• You’re looking for faithful and committed people
G12 Life Group Notes– January 13, 2013 – 6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux _(con’t)_
Romans 8:29

• The military is excellent in conformance
• First you go to boot camp
• You are then stripped of everthing
• The drill instructor gives you what you will have – Even your under garments
• You must conform or you are kicked out
• The military gives you focus
• Realize – conforming is a process
Ephesians 1:10-11
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
• Some transform but not together as one
• Jesus’ purpose was to bring transformation
• The Ultimate goal is to be one in Christ
• You must examine those areas to be one and then mature / grow in Him
• Step it up!
