Conforming In His Image Through Truth

James 1:21
21 Where fore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

• Salvation is different than being saved
• Being saved is immediate but salvation is a process

Colossians 3:1-10
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds. 10 And have put on the new man which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him

• The saving of your soul is a process
• After salvation you have the responsibility for saving your soul
• Every time you have a life group meeting you’re helping to save the souls of the people in your group
• Helping to get them anchored in the Lord and in the Word
• You can get them delivered but it takes diligence on their part to stay delivered
• Staying delivered is staying away from what had them bound
• God is still a God of wrath and you can play out the grace that’s on your life
• God’s wrath is him taking his hand off your life
• You must take responsibility for yourself and repent
• Verse 10 , you must be renewed in knowledge
• The Greek word for knowledge is “epignosis” which means higher knowledge
• That higher knowledge is Truth

3 John 1-4,8
1 The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperth. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in truth. 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.

• What activates the blessing of verse 2 is you walking in the truth

G12 Life Group Notes– December 18, 2011– 6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Cont’)__

John 8: 31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him. If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

• “Word” in these verses means truth
• The more of the truth you get in you, the more it’s making you free
• You must stay in truth and not just hear it because truth is transforming

2 Peter 1:12
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth

• You should never be intimidated to tell the truth because people may know the truth but might not be in the truth
• Just because they’ve heard the truth doesn’t mean they know it or that it’s anchored in them

Ephesians 1:13
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.

• The word of truth generates faith which moves you to action.

Our Job is to Bring Every Man/Woman Into the Image of God

Ephesians 4: 17 – 20
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ:

• Your walk is your conduct or behavior
• Your soul can be saved, but your body will never be saved
• Your understanding is in your mind
• You must come into maturity through the renewing of your mind (Reading and studying the Word)
• If you received all that Jesus has for you - You would not live a lowly life

1 John 1: 8
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us..

• The job of truth is to make you free

2 John 1 – 8
1The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth: and not I only, but also all they that have known the truths. 2 For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. 3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

• When you are walking in truth, you are holding up a standard
• Truth brings you up - Sin brings you down
• You must want to stand and fight for truth
• The higher the standard you can achieve, the more God can trust you
• Truth demands change
• Compromise is easier when you fail to grasp the truth

G12 Life Group Notes– December 11, 2011– 6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Cont’)__

3 John 1-4
1The elder unto the well beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

• “Truth testifies of truth” – Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• God loves it when you walk in truth

3 John 1:8
• Once you receive the truth, you still need to be encouraged
• Truth will make a change in your life
• Truth keeps raising the bar
• It stagnates if you are not using and utilizing it
• Truth closes the door

The Purpose of G-12 – To aggressively Go After Men and Women

Genesis 1:26, 27
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

• You need to assist others in their walk
• God’s image was distorted by the fall of Adam
• Sin always distorts something good in your life
• Jesus was sent to restore man back into the image and likeness of God
• You have a responsibility to develop yourself and others
• This is where the fight comes in
• Men and women are dealing with:
Low self-esteem Anger
Unforgiving spirits Lust
Rebellion Selfishness
Stubbornness
• If one of the above areas is operating in you
• It holds God back from doing what he wants to do in your life
• If you don’t address these areas, you will only do things that’s convenient for you

Romans 8:29, 30
29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

• Once you are conformed, you then can conform others
• God’s plan is for you to take responsibility and touch others
• You need to focus on 144
• You must have Life Groups (open) and G-12 Life Groups (closed)
• You must take time with men and women
• God has a predestinated plan for your life
• Life Groups – you must get men and women through Pathway classes, encounters, and the Vision process
• God’s predestination is for everyone to be conformed into the image of Christ
• Those whom He calls are justified and then glorified
• The glory was lost in the fall of man
• The enemy does not want you to have the glory back in your life

• Receiving the glory back is a process
• It does not happen overnight – It is a process
• Process conforms you into the image of Christ

In Genesis chapter three:
• God asked where Adam was
• He is asking the same thing today – Where are you?
• The enemy works to break your focus
• You are either conformed or in the process of being conformed
• You should not be “just maintaining”
• You should be provoking and changing the lives of men and women
• As you minister, God is ministering to you
• You need to be witnessing and praying for men and women
• You are here to be transformed into the image of Christ

John 15:1, 4-8
1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except, it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye bide in me 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without, me ye can do nothing. 6If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, an it shall be done unto you.

• Abide means to take up residence
• Our job is to bear fruit
• Which means to bring men and women into the image of Christ
• If you would just take the responsibility of mentoring and bring others into the image of Christ
• How many marriages could be saved, children saved; and man living longer?
• Some people ask why things are not happening – Because it has not materialized
• God’s goal is to bring men and women back into His image
• When you bring men and women into the image of Christ you are abiding

Genesis 1:28
28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

• God blessed the ones who were conformed
• Multiplication is in other men and women, bringing them into the image of Christ
• That is when you are subduing the earth
• It is a shame if you are not being conforming or conforming others

Aggressiveness For God

When we pray, we need to pray an engaging prayer. Passive prayers are not as
effective as engaging prayers or praying against spirits that are coming against you

Isaiah 61:1
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

• We need to be aggressive about the things of God
• When you see that a person does not respond to common sense, you are dealing with a stronghold
• Strongholds will fight to defend themselves
• Strongholds have to be fought
• Quit talking and start engaging

Luke 4:14,18
14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

• We need to confess that we are returning in the power of the Spirit
• Every believer is called to be aggressive
• Being aggressive is being positive

Matthew 10:1, 7, 8
1And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 7And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

• Another word for power is authority
• Jesus gave the disciples aggressive power
• We need to show God’s goodness
• People need to see God in us

Matthew 11:11, 12
11Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

• We can do greater things than John the Baptist because we have received the finished work of Jesus Christ
• Violent people attack the spirit of darkness
• The enemy attacks you to try to neutralize you
• Violence is divine strength imparted by the Holy Spirit to get things accomplished in the supernatural that could never be done in the natural
• A strong prayer life and going out of your way demonstrate violence
• You need to show action – for example, lay hands on people
• Preach then demonstrate

Luke 10:1, 9, 17
1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

• There were twelve disciples; Now there is an additional seventy that Jesus aggressively with after
• We should tell people the reason we believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ
• The disciples saw the fruit of their aggressiveness
• They had never seen anything like that before
• Jesus could not do it all
• He empowered the disciples to set people free

Being Aggressive in Your Outreach

When We are Reaching Out to Men and Women, We Need to Bathe it in prayer

Isaiah 61:1,2
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

• Jesus is announcing that God’s Spirit is upon him
• Anointing: Burden moving, yoke destroying power of God
• Aggressive words: preach; proclaim; bind
• Jesus came with an aggressive attitude
• Most people are not aggressive
• 98% of Christians are not aggressive
• Passiveness is our old nature
• Spirits are out there fighting us to be passive

The Greatest Fear of Satan is Relationships

• It is called the principle of two
• God puts two together to release power
• We need to be God pleasers, not people pleasers
• We need to step up our aggressiveness in ministering to others
• We need to step up our prayer life
• We need to make a difference everyday
• We are either passive or aggressive

Luke 4:14,19
14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

• Jesus’ aggressive attitude has touched billions

Matthew 10:1-4
1And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus: 4Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

• The disciples needed aggressiveness
• Jesus gave the disciples power to be aggressive

Matthew 10:7
7And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

• We have to believe that our foot steps are ordered by God
• God did not call for us to be passive

Matthew 10:27
27What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

• Let everybody know about God
• Ask God to give you a platform to Minister the Gospel
• We must pray for aggressiveness
• We are either going forward or backward

G-12 Life Group Notes – September 25, 2011
LEADERSHIP MEETING
KEYS TO MOVING YOURSELF AND YOUR TEAM TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Pastor Phillip G. Goudeaux

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

 A person with a good heart will be a blessing.
 We can do more with a team than we can do without a team.
 To have outward growth you must have inward growth first.
 It is rare to grow outwardly and inwardly at the same time, you are usually doing the one or the other.

Proverbs 22:6— Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
 Training is critical—it gives information and knowledge.
 Training shows the “how to’s.”
 Teaching and Training is critical for your teams.
 It is impossible to “WOW” the visitors when the teams are not on the same page.

SIX KEYS TO ASSIST WITH TEACHING AND TRAINING YOUR TEAMS

“Excellence is not a mistake, but it is a deliberate act. It is not a destination but a journey.” Pastor Goudeaux

1. A Leader Must be Able to Impart the Vision!
 Here at CCC we must know the 16 points of the man of Gods vision (Pastor Goudeaux).
 What is your department’s mission statement?
 What is the vision for their department?
 How does your vision and mission tie into the bigger vision?
 When people take “ownership” they take more pride, more effort, and embrace it.
 In order to take ownership a leader must have the ability to present a compelling vision to his/her team. Why are we here? Why are we doing what we are doing? People must see the importance of the part that they play. Then you must write the vision and make it plain.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

2. Discipline—A Leader Must Have Self Control
 We are a diverse ministry, so we must understand that there are different cultures and be able to restrain ourselves when necessary.
 There must be self control in many areas: spirit, soul, body, family, finances, and time.
 Spirit: Proverbs 25:28 28He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Message: 28 A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out.

 For instance when the visionary calls a fast: The leader who is disciplined would have immediately had their whole team fast. Most people are undisciplined in many areas—prayer life, eating habits, etc.

3. A Leader Must Have the Ability to Attract People
 If you can’t attract people it becomes a challenge.
 You must be able to win people to your vision/department/ministry.

4. A Team Leader Must Have the Ability to Motivate People
 Pastor should not be the only one promoting your department, you should. Pastor should not even have to be there.

5. A Team Leader Must Have the Ability to Fight Negativity
 There will be negativity against you and against your team.
 How you handle negativity will be key.
 There will be strife, assault, division, gossip—how you handle it will determine the type of team leader you will be.

Psalms 1:1-3 1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

6. A Team Leader Must be Willing to Change and Grow
 We must be constantly changing in order to grow.
 The moment you don’t want to change you stop growing.
 You must stay green and growing.

It’s All About The Heart

Proverbs Chapter 16
1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. 5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. 21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent; and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. 23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

• Inward growth comes from commitment
• If your life is out of balance, your equilibrium will cause failure and you will fail under the barrage of warfare
• When the winds blow, you will go
• The depth of your walk with God is the depth of the word that is inside of you
• You never know what battle is coming your way
• Bend and pop back up like a palm tree

Proverbs 16:9
9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

• If you don’t like the way things are going then change your heart
• You are where your heart is

Jeremiah 17:5, 9
5Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusted in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked who can know it?

• A bad heart is self seeking
• A heart that is not renewed is wicked

Matthew 12:34, 35
34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

• Your heart displays the attitude that is inside of you
• When the depth of a man’s wicket heart is feed, it will bring a demise
• Great success comes from the inward growth

Deuteronomy 5:29
29O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
