“Covenant of Increase”
“Think Outside The Box Of Containment”

Psalm 115:12-14 II Kings 4:1 Matthew 13:44, 45 Matthew 19:19 -22

• You must position yourself for the blessings of God

• The challenge today is that people do not know what is inside their house

• You are never going to get rich working for somebody else

• You have to put yourself in the position to where you are the employer - Not the employee

• Employees are the “E” people – “E” people hang around other “E” people

• So they never break out the box to “B” and “I” people (Big Business and Investment)

• You must learn how to break out the box of containment

• Satan’s job is to contain you – To keep you bound to the system

• The system will keep you broke, busted, and disgusted

• If you really want to be rich – Take three piggy banks

• 1. Savings 2. Investment 3. Tithe

• You decide what to put into the bank, consistently everyday for the rest of your life

• If you do this – No one can hold you back

• Every person should have four revenue streams

• You need to be working everyday on building your four revenue streams

• Be the Captain of your ship – You determine which way your ship will go

• By the course and the destiny that you choose - What you choose to do or not to do

• You have to work at putting yourself in the position of being the Captain of your ship

• God wants to bless you and bless through you – He has got generations on His mind

• He wants to bless through you so that - He can bless your children for generations

• If you don’t get the right mindset – You will stop the generational blessings

• There are three kinds of people in the world
Those who are wondering what is happening
Those who are watching what is happening
Those who make things happen

• A key to success and prosperity in your life – Being on a search for where you want to go

• Then being willing to invest everything that you have – To get where you want to go

• Two things about your success you need to understand
Learn how to sell
Learn how to buy

• What do you have in your house? – That is your question

• What’s in your house will determine - What is going to happen in your life

• The miracle is not in what you have – Your ability to sell will bring prosperity

• Take your hands and put them to work

• God will bless all that you put your hands to do

Fasting
Schedule some type of G-12 outreach before the end of the year
Your greatest success is not what you take, but what you give back.
“Dr. Phillip Goudeaux”

Exodus 34:28
28And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

• Moses fasted and prayed before receiving God’s word – The 10 Commandments.
• Joshua was also fasting 40 days so the anointing also came over him.

Luke 4:1-2
1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

• Your greatest success is not what you take, but what you give back.
• In order for something big to happen, there was fasting.
• Moses was able to overcome all of his weaknesses through 40 days of fasting.
• When Jesus came out of 40 days of fasting, He was stronger.
• Fasting helps you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit; you are quicker to repent when errors occur.

Acts 13:1-4
1Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 3And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

• Our fasting and prayer time must include ministering to the Lord.
• How much time do we spend ministering to the Lord?

G12 Life Group Notes– December 12, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Acts 14:23
23And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

• A mandate was given for prayer and fasting.
• You will never find truth as long as the flesh is in charge.
• One of the biggest challenges for men/women is the flesh.
• Our job is to keep our flesh under subjection.
• Before Christ we were body, soul and spirit. After receiving Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are spirit, soul and body.

I John 2:15-17
15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

• Verse 16 defines what the world is.
• The unholy trinity: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life.

James 1:12
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

• The only way to avoid temptation is to have our flesh under subjection.
• God does not send evil our way to see if we will respond.
• When lust comes, it brings sin with it.
• No sacrifice for God will go unrewarded.

James 1:14 - 16
14But everyman is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

• Do not err.
• Lust only has one agenda.

• We have to come against pride and deception and the strongholds associated with pride.
• We must pray with the authority of Jesus.
• We must take authority and loose the spirit of pride, deception, and its strongholds.
• When you are praying for someone, you should pray, “By the authority of Jesus, I loose that spirit of pride and I bind their will to the will of God.”
• We must derail the spirit of pride by our prayer, confession, and the Word of God.
• If you don’t break the spirit of pride, that person is going to live a defeated life.
• Everyone deals with pride. If anyone denies that fact, they are not telling the truth.
• Pride never goes away, it always comes back.
• Pride will block your blessings.
• Many great people have lost everything behind pride.
• We must work with our men/women regarding pride.

Cindy Trimm has written books on praying with authority and power, such as “The Art of War for Spiritual Battle.” Most people don’t pray with authority.

• When you are operating in pride, you cannot admit you are wrong.
• It is also difficult for a person operating in pride to forgive or ask for forgiveness.

Proverbs 16:18
18Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

• God is stressing that pride goes before destruction.
• We should never think that we can have a haughty spirit and not suffer destruction.

Isaiah 14:13-15
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

• The devil is full of pride.
• We must share this message with passion.

 A lot of us have negative spirits driving us, some will come off without prayer and fasting.

James 4:4
4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

• We must resist the devil.
• There are spirits that have been assigned to us.
• Fasting helps us to deny our flesh.

Proverbs 10:4
4He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

• We have to work on being diligent, there is warfare waged against us.
• Fasting helps to make us disciplined and to keep our flesh under control.

Proverbs 13:4
4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

• We must be able to control ourselves and keep our mouths shut when needed.

Proverbs 12:24
24The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

• Our flesh wants to be in control, we must control it.
• The enemy wants to brand us and take control of our lives.
• We must commit to crucify our flesh.

Exodus 20:9-17
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13Thou shalt not kill. 14Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15Thou shalt not steal. 16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

• Our greatest sin is covetousness (covetousness is unrestrained or wrongly desirous of wealth and possessions, greedy.)
• We must not covet.

G12 Life Group Notes– October 24, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Romans 12:1-2
1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

• You cannot fully renew your mind without prayer and fasting. It encompasses denial.
• We must be disciplined.
• The more you discipline yourself, the greater the reward.
• The world wants us to conform to its values and flesh wants to do what the world does.
• G12 men and women are part of an elite team and it requires self denial.
• Fasting is absolutely required.

Matthew 6:16
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

• If you want everyone to fast, you are fasting for the wrong reason.
• Every time we fast we can expect an award.

Matthew 6:17-18
17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

• Fasting has to be a part of our lives in order to keep our flesh under subjection. We are spirit, soul and body.
• If a man is not a fasting man, we can’t trust him because he will yield to his flesh.
• The more we fast, the more our flesh is under control.

Matthew 17:20-21
20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

• The enemy will fight you from fasting and prayer.
• 5 areas: Household Salvation, Revival, Avalanche of Favor, Financial Breakthrough, Deeper Relationship with the Holy Spirit, and whatever else you are believing for.
• Jesus is talking about power of faith and prayer.

II Chronicles 7:14-15
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

• This has to do with fasting.
• Verse 15, then his eyes open. We need to change our posture.
• We must change our position because nothing is happening without prayer and fasting.

G12 Life Group Notes– October 17, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Exodus 34:28
28And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
• We need to teach fasting in “Winning Marriages.”
• Moses was in God’s presence and he did a super fast.
• God is not going to call us to a fast without water.

I Samuel 7:3
3And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
• If you are going to be a strong man or woman, you must continuously seek God’s face.
• If we are not growing in our relationship with God, we are dying in our relationship with God.
• We should read the Word every day.
• Fasting helps bring forth more changes more quickly than your doing.

I Samuel 20:34
34So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.
• We need to fast for our friends, for our spouses and children.
• We need to fast for our G12 men and women.

I Samuel 31:13
13And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
• Pain of grief and separation can be broken by fasting.

II Samuel 1:12
12And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
• They fasted for king, priest, etc., breaking the spirit of destruction.

II Samuel 3:35
35And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
• David became a man of God through seeking God’s will through prayer and fasting.

II Samuel 12:16
16David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
• You can’t do wrong and think that it is going to change the sin that was sown, but it will change you.
• When we are fasting, we are telling Him that we are giving Him our attention.
• Who we give our attention to, gives us their attention.

Matthew 9:14-15
14Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
• Jesus was prophesying about fasting. He said as long as He was alive, the disciples did not have to fast.
• Fasting helps renew your mind. It changes your heart and makes you more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
• When we fast, God turns His face towards us.

Matthew 6:16-18
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
• God is looking for men and women who will seek Him.
• Is your heart committed to fasting? There is a reward tied into fasting. You cannot fast without a reward.
• We are not to draw attention to ourselves when we are fasting.
• Fasting is going after God. Hebrews 11:6 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. He is not going after you.
• Coming to God is different than coming to church. You can come to church without coming to God.

 While we are praying for an avalanche of favor, pray for wisdom to know how to handle it.

Matthew 17:14-21
14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. 16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. 17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. 18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. 19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
• Fasting and praying makes you more sensitive to God.
• A lot of things will not be overcome without prayer and fasting.
• When we are praying and fasting, we cannot negatively talk about someone.
• We are not fasting for a reward; we are fasting for a breakthrough.
• When we are fasting, we are able to see some of the addictions we have in our lives.

• Some things don’t happen without prayer and supplication.
• It is often necessary that we do extra.

 We are praying for 5 things during the September 19-28 fast:
1. Salvation for all family members
2. Revival
3. Avalanche of favor
4. Financial breakthrough
5. A deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit

1. Salvation for all family members
• We have family members that need salvation.
• People are waiting for a manifestation of the power of God.

2. Revival
• We must ask God for revival in us and the ministry.
• David asked God to restore him.
• Revival occurs when we keep our focus on God. That is when miracles occur.

Psalm 119:88
88Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
• The first level of revival is being able to keep our testimony. The only way we keep our testimony is that it is refreshed.

Psalm 119:107, 149, 154
107I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word. 149Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment. 154Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
• Revival is a refocusing on God.

Psalm 119:159
159Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
• When we are focused on God, we are not focused on ourselves.

II Chronicles 7:14-15
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
• There is an “if” – turning away from wickedness is turning to righteousness.
• We must humble ourselves.
• Many times God has not been able to show up on our behalf because we have not been focused on Him.
• Key words are “if,” “then,” and “now.”
G12 Life Group Notes– September 19, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

 Everything else we are fasting for hangs on revival.
 When we seek God’s face, we are seeking God Himself, not His hands or saying, “God give me this or I want that.”
 If a revival takes off inside of us, what family member will be able to resist that kind of spirit and power?
 People are waiting to see revival in us.
 They want to see proof.

3. Avalanche of favor
• During the fast, we are praying for the supernatural favor of God.

4. Financial breakthrough
• We are calling on:
o Jehovah Baalperazim – The God of Breakthrough
o Jehovah Jireh – God my Provider
o El Shaddai – The God that is More than Enough
o El Elyon – The Most High God

 We are coming against poverty, lack, want, and need.

5. A deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit
• People should see that something profound is operating within us.

SCRIPTURES ON FASTING
Isaiah 58:1-7
1Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. 2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. 3Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. 4Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? 6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

• We should be seeking God’s way.
• Fasting is more than not eating. We are seeking God.

• You cannot go after God without God delivering you.

Hosea 10:2
2Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
• Sow to yourselves and break up fallow ground so that the Word of God can be planted.
• You cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results - that is called insanity. We need to break up fallow ground.

II Chronicles 7:14
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
• CCC will begin a 10-day fast September 19 through September 28, 2010.
o We will fast each day until 6:00 p.m.
o You may consume light liquids.
o We are seeking God’s face.
• Humble means to bend the knees.
o The time we fast there is no sex.
o We are here to stand in the gap and seek His face (not His hands).
o We need to get rid of sins and secret sins.
• “Heal the land” includes our spouses, children, finances, body, etc.
• Once you get it right with God, God makes it right with you.
• If you want something you have never had before, you must do something you have not done before.

Matthew 26:36-42
36Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

• Flesh never wants to cooperate with God.
• G12 is about surrendering to the will of God.

G12 Life Group Notes– September 12, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• God intended us to be our brother’s keeper. We should not let a brother or sister get saved and then have to fight the force of Satan by themselves.
• We must have the spirit of G12 otherwise, we will make excuses.
• There is a difference between knowing the mechanics, verses having the spirit. For example, there is a spirit in giving; however, you can make it mechanical.
• The one who has the spirit is the one that is going to be blessed.

Genesis 4:1-8
1And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

• Verse 3, “in the process of time” means God had told them what to do. Abel had the spirit.

Hebrews 11:4
4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 12:1-4
1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

• Joy came to Jesus when He caught the spirit.
• “Despising the shame” Jesus was able to think lightly of His sacrifice because He had the spirit and understood what God had for Him.
• When we get the spirit of G12, we will not consider it drudgery.

I Samuel 30:1-8
1And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 7And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

• The enemy fights people that are trying to do right.
• Some time people think because they are saved they will not have problems.
• God’s Word says He will never leave us or forsake us.
• David was out doing good and when he returned everything was gone (wives, children, etc.).
• We need to give God glory even when things do not look good.
• Verse 4 shows sorrow and pain.
• In the midst of the greatest pain in life, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God (verse 6).
• David went to his priest who gave him the ephod. At that time one did not enter the presence of God without the ephod which is a sacred vest.
• Verse 8 David received a word from God. God could not talk to David without David encouraging himself first because he would have been angry.

John 17:15
15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
• We need to ask ourselves where we are. Someone should be able to see where our hope is by our actions.
• If we are going through a battle, we need to know where we are in our faith walk.

Isaiah 49:13
13Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Psalm 34:19
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
• God will deliver us from afflictions.

Story of Rahab in Joshua chapter 2, the Bible tells the story of Rahab, a prostitute who live in Jericho who hid the two spies sent by Joshua to gain knowledge of the land. Rahab trusted God and had faith. God delivered Rahab and her family from death.

G12 Life Group Notes– August 29, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• When we are being afflicted, God has mercy on us. You can expect that mercy to come fast.
• When we go through afflictions we come out stronger and are able to help others.
• Many are the afflictions, if you don’t learn lessons from situations, you are bound to repeat them.

Jeremiah 2:24-27
24A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her. 25Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go. 26As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. 27Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
• Sometimes people bring trouble upon themselves.
• Many want to blame God for their problems when it is their fault.
• When we sow bad seeds or do wrong, God will forgive us. However, forgiveness of sin does not wipe away the seed that has been sown. We will still reap the harvest that has been sown. Stupidity has a price.
• We must try to sow as much good seed as possible.

Jonah 2:1-10
1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, 2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. 3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. 10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
• When we are going through something, we need to hear God’s voice.
• Some things are brought upon us through no fault of our own, and some things are caused by us.
• Often we forget that we caused our own problems or affliction.
• We don’t want God to get busy preparing a fish for us. Through Jonah’s ordeal he changed his attitude and worshipped God.
• Our attitude, disposition, and outlook will determine how quickly we are going to get out of a situation.
• Everything can change when we change.
• We must always bless the one who created heaven and earth.

• When we witness to people, our follow up is time sensitive because we are in spiritual warfare.

Proverbs 13:12-13
12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. 13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

• People are discouraged and many have a dismal spirit.
• Satan is using a poor job market and delay to trip people up.
• It will not be dismal for those that serve the King of Kings and the Kingdom.
• There is spiritual warfare and we must stay focused on the Kingdom.
• Four stages that people go through: decision, change, transition, and transformation.
• The ability to go through the transition (wilderness) stage is where people face the biggest challenge.
• Transformation is the final stage and represents the promise land.
• Transition is only a temporary thing for those of us who walk by faith and not by sight.
• When we are going through transition the enemy will fight our ability to stay in the Word.
• The enemy tries to make us look at the circumstances.

Exodus 14:7-15
7And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. 8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand. 9But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. 10And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. 11And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
.
• The children of Israel left Egypt with a spirit of boldness and their fist raised in defiance.
• They had strong confidence and boldness which they had not had in 450 years.
• It took 10 curses for God to defeat Pharaoh.
• Egypt represents Satan. None of us are exempt from satanic attacks because we are not yet transformed or where God wants us to be.

G12 Life Group Notes– August 22, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• Anytime you have confidence, Satan will attack you.
• Pharaoh took his greatest army to attack the Israelites. They fell back into doubt and unbelief after being confident.
• Verse 11 and 12 demonstrate how the children of Israel let their circumstance talk to them. They tell Moses that they would rather serve Egypt or Satan. Question: Did the circumstance change God’s ability to perform? Answer: No.
• When bad circumstances show up, it is easy to fall back if no one is there to provide support.
• It is important that we read our Bible each day and attend our church services.
• Our families and those that depend upon us are at stake.
• You can never help someone get out of their situation without first dealing with fear. Fear is an obstacle that holds people back.
• Verse 13 shows the transition from fear to faith. We must look at situations that God has delivered us from and have faith that He can and will do it again.
• Fear is a major weapon. Question: Can God still do it again? Answer: Yes, He can.
• Moses did not know everything. He had faith in God.
• God was prohibited from doing everything He wanted to do because the children of Israel were not moving forward in faith.
• We must move forward.
• There is nothing gained in standing still.
• Faith is always moving.

• Quit being a reservoir and start being a stream. We must share the gospel and not just keep it to ourselves.
• We should be reaching out and having picnics and inviting our friends, neighbors, and the unsaved. We should encourage our G12 disciples to attend and invite their friends that are unsaved.
• We need to be more aggressive in our witnessing. If we have a mediocre attitude we will have mediocre results.
• We should pray each day that the fruits of the spirit will be in operation in our lives.
• A good man/woman’s footsteps are ordered by God.

Luke 16:10
10He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
• The enemy fights men/women’s faithfulness.
• We must be faithful to God, men, women, friends, our jobs, church, etc.
• Men/women have a hard time submitting.
• Being faithful does not go without being contested.
• Satan is unfaithful.
• We must spend time in God’s Word and presence so we are successful in fighting the enemy.
• The Word must be cultivated within us. You have to fight to remain faithful.
• Faithfulness is an attribute of God.
• God holds faithfulness at a high standard.
• When we are faithful, it is a big thing to God, although we might see it as a small thing.

Proverbs 25:19 19Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
Proverbs 20:6
6Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? You can be good in a lot of things in life. The key question is can you be faithful?
• Can you separate faithful from integrity? The answer is no.

Deuteronomy 7:9
9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
• God is faithful and merciful.

Psalm 36:5 5Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
Psalms 89:1 1I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
I Corinthians 1:9
9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
• God is faithful, reliable, trustworthy, and ever true to His promises. He can be depended upon.
• Satan is unfaithful. He tries to get everyone to be unfaithful like him.

Proverbs 25:19

Luke 16: 10 -12
• We should protect ourselves from unfaithful men/women.
• We should make sure that we are not one of them.
• Sometimes we will try to building something around someone who is unfaithful.
• Unfaithful men/women make excuses.
• When we are unfaithful, God can’t use us like he desires.
• Being faithful is showing up on time or ahead of time.

Proverbs 20:6
• Some men/women can talk and give a good resume, but what we need is results.

2 Timothy 2:1-2
• You cannot count on the unfaithfulness.

1 Corinthian 4:2
• Being faithful demands a level of sacrifice.
• Our first faithfulness and commitment must be to God. Second our spouse. Third our children. Fourth to our Church. Fifth to our job.
• All of the aforementioned demand faithfulness and sacrifice.
• We cannot demand something of someone else if we are not modeling it ourselves.
• When we are living like we are suppose to live, we inspire dreams.
• The biggest motivator for men/women is desire.
• Your faithfulness will always be challenged.
• Faithfulness is an attribute of God.
• Unfaithfulness is an attribute of Satan.
• Being unfaithful destroys relationships.
• We must talk to our G12 men/women about being faithful.
• Every one of us has to demonstrate that someone can trust us.

1 Corinthian 1:9
• God is faithful, reliable, trust worthy, ever true to his promises or his word.
• God can be depended upon. By him we have partnership and relationship.

Matthew 26:8
8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
• Sacrifice is different than reasonable service.
• God is prompting us to do something that is over and above what we would normally do.
• Most Christians will not even do reasonable service, for example, witnessing, tithing, etc.
• When you commit to becoming a successful G12 leader, it is a sacrifice. You open your home, call and visit.
• God is calling us to sacrifice.
• Sacrifice is always linked to a great reward.
• God is not going to bless you the way He wants to when you are just operating at a mediocre level.
• We must never cry about sacrificing.
• The disciples had indignation because they were unwilling to sacrifice on the level that the woman with the alabaster box demonstrated.
• You can be around spiritual people that have never made a sacrifice.

Luke 21:1-4
1And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
• Sacrifice is a big word for big people.
• People that do not want to sacrifice will talk against you sacrificing.
• Our blessings come from us stretching ourselves.
• A rubber band will not reach its potential until it is stretched.
• When we have an opportunity to give our finances, time or talent, we should not be complacent.
• Sacrifice never goes unrewarded.
• If we want big things to happen, we need to do something big.

Acts 4:34-35
34Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
• The people made sacrifice. Sacrifice is not the norm, it is the unusual.
• We need to ask God to call us to sacrifice.
• The devil hates sacrifice.
• When God asks us to do something, He is preparing to bless us.

By Cesar Castellanos

• Fruitfulness will not be realized without our taking ownership.
• Along with work, there is also a need for us to sacrifice.
• Lots of work takes place before the harvest comes in.

Exodus 36:5
• So many things are going wrong in the world today, how much time do you think we have?
• Jesus commanded us to witness, make disciples, and build his Church. How many of us are doing God’s work?
• Every one of us can bring someone new to Church each Sunday.

1 Kings 17:13
• God was demanding sacrifice. You cannot make sacrifice without God blessing you.
• God honors our sacrifice. For example, when we go out witnessing.

Matt 26:39
• Even Jesus had to sacrifice. He had to get pass his will. The will does not want us to do a lot of things.
• “The blessings don’t come to he that sitteth, but he that gets off the couch”
- Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• The road paved with gold is paved with sacrifice.
• God never asks us to sacrifice without a great blessing.
• Sacrifice is a principle. When you work a principle, the principle will work for you.
• People want things without sacrifice.
• When you make sacrifice and are around others who don’t or are unwilling, they will attempt to criticize and put you down.
• God wants you to work hard for his Kingdom and he will work hard for you.

Matt 26 6-10
• The alabaster box was very valuable and was used for burial.
• The woman loved and appreciated Jesus because he had saved her.
• The disciples had indignation because they were not prepared to make the kind of sacrifice that she made.
• Jesus let the disciples know that sacrifice was a good work.
• Love, appreciation, and thankfulness should drive you to sacrifice, not what you expect to get.
• We must be willing to make sacrifices for the Kingdom.
• The people of God must be willing to change.

Exodus 18:20
20And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
• We must examine ourselves and make sure we are always doing the things that God has commanded us to do.
• We must be on guard and not allow ourselves to be drained, depleted, and destroyed.

 Read John 17 every day for one week.

Reading from Chapter 8, “You are the Leader” - Attributes that Distinguish a Leader of Twelve

He is recognized by His Team as a Person of Faith
• His or her group is doing something. Faith is always moving.
• Faith is trusting leadership.

He is Faithful to the Message he Communicates
• As leaders, we must first be partakers. You cannot expect someone to do something if you are not doing it.
• We must be faithful to the message we are communicating.

“I cannot over emphasize the importance of prayer.” Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• The more time we spend with the Lord, the greater leader we will be.
• We need to spend time worshipping. There should not be a day that goes by that we don’t pray for our twelve.
• We should pray for the peace of God, health, divine protection, and that God will use us to be a bold and powerful witness.
• We need to make a difference in our homes, jobs, and community.

Ezekiel 22:30
30And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
• We should pray for and honor leaders that are promoting the Kingdom of God.

G12 Life Group Notes– June 13, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Jeremiah 51:20
20Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
• We must spend time praying with our disciples.
• “With thee” means we are workers together with God.

Jeremiah 1:10
10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
• This scripture tells us how God has set us over Life Groups, etc.

Jeremiah 1:19
19And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
• We will not be without challenges.
• Memorize this scripture.

READING from Successful Leadership through the Government of 12 by Cesar Castellanos

Exodus 18:20
20And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
• All of us are leaders and this scripture is our commandment.
• The four key elements are: 1following God’s ordinances, 2laws, 3the way we must walk, 4and the work we must do.
• Our G12 meetings should reflect these principles.

Deuteronomy 5:33
33Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
• Everything God has commanded us to do we should be working on.
• You are either moving forward or sliding backwards.
• Live long and prosper can be shown in your home, on your job, etc.

Successful Leadership through the Government of 12
Reading from Chapter 8, “You Are the Leader”

• Our first job is to help our disciples to develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
• There are qualifications we should have as leaders.
• We want to do what Jesus did, and that is to magnify God.

QUALITIES OF A LEADER
1. He or she is recognized as a person of faith.
2. He or she is faithful to the message he or she communicates.
3. He or she is honored by the fruit of his or her twelve.

• “You cannot operate in the supernatural and exercise authority and dominion if you are natural.” Pastor Goudeaux
• No matter what group you have you will always have some differences. There are spirits that will try to keep them from being faithful and get them into sin.
• The leaders must operate in the supernatural and deal with the spirits that are attacking his or her twelve.
• It takes a supernatural leader to deal with supernatural things.

G12 Life Group Notes– June 6, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

I Corinthians 12:8-9
8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

• The Holy Spirit gives supernatural gifts.
• The faith the scripture talks about is not faith by hearing, but “special faith.”
• We need to ask God to give us a discerning spirit regarding people so we can know what issues our disciples are dealing with. We can then help them to stay on track.
• There are spirits that try to keep us from being productive that we must come against.
• Our G12 groups should be a brotherhood or sisterhood. We should be pushing and encouraging one another.

• We must be honest with ourselves.
• In order to move to the next level, we must not allow pride to prevent us from following the lead of a mentor or role model.
• In order to encourage people to come to church, there is an excellent book entitled, “The Bible in Light of Our Redemption” by E.W. Kenyon. We can start a bible study (15 or 20 minutes) using this book.

The Disciples Walk
Colossians 2: 6,7,10
6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
• Walk, regulate your life.
• Thanksgiving is the act of faith in God demonstrated.
• 4 key areas we must regulate our life includes: being rooted, built up, established in faith, and abounding in thanksgiving.
• Our lower nature must not be stronger than our higher nature.
• Verse 10 means we should walk worthy, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every
good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

II Thessalonians 2:17
17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
• Comfort and encourage your heart - that heart is your soul.
• We have to remind our head about our heart.
• We must comfort our heart with the Word.
• We must keep ourselves busy when we are going through something.
• We must learn to establish and comfort ourselves in the Word.
• We must be about building the Kingdom.

Psalms 84:11
11For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
• God is going to shine on us with grace and favor.
• We must keep our walk consistent.
• Walking means walking after Him circumspectly (watchful and discreet, cautious, prudent).
• All men/women deal with temptation.

Psalms 85: 12, 13
12Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. 13Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

G12 Life Group Notes– May 30, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

II Corinthians 5:7
7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
• There is a habit that is formed. We walk and conduct ourselves by faith.
• Our circumstance does not regulate us.
• We must walk by faith, not appearance.
• We must remove our pride.
• There will be people in our lives that will provoke us to grow in the things of God and take us to the next level.
• We need to be around people that can help us to operate at a higher level.
• If we are around people with wisdom, we increase in wisdom.
• Some people provoke joy in us and we like being around them.
• We must live by believing, not by seeing.

Roman 1:17
17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
• We must walk our faith walk all the way to the end.
• We must walk out our adversities in life by faith.
• God cannot reveal Himself unless we walk by faith.
• We must continuously pray and speak the Word.

THE DISCIPLES WALK

• We must give our whole heart.
Colossians 2:6-7
6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
• Walk in Him means we need to learn everything about Him.
• If we were actors we would learn everything about the person we wanted to portray.
• Walk is a command, an action word.
• “The wind of adversity in your life will determine the depth of your roots.” Phillip Goudeaux
• We all get attacked. If you are a believer, you are either going through or coming out of an attack.
• When we come out of an attack our roots should be stronger.
• If our roots are exposed when we are going through something, it shows a lack of depth.
• We should not allow discouragement, disappointment, temptations, tests, or trails to weaken our faith.
• A believer’s root should be growing each day.
• A tree that only gets surface water will not have strong roots.
• Reading the Bible and studying out words strengthens our roots.
• Abound with thanksgiving means not complaining. Talking about your situation will not cause you to abound. Don’t give glory to negative things in your life.
Colossians 1:9-10
9For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
• Walk, live, and conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Lord.
• Our job is to work on ourselves. When we are working on ourselves, we are more forgiving of others because we understand the challenges we all face.
• We need to focus on ourselves. When we focus on ourselves, we get benefits.
• Bearing fruit means we are steadily growing and developing fuller and deeper insight.
• You cannot walk worthy without the Holy Spirit.
• Men/women have issues. We have to have the power of God in order to overcome insecurities, etc.
• The Holy Spirit is the empowering agent to aid and assist us.
Successful Leadership through the Government of 12 – Cesar Castellanos
Part II, Chapter 7, Page 161
• Men/women need to know how to raise standards.
• We are leaders. Our disciples must see our standard and should be able to draw something from our lives.

We should be focused on winning family members, neighbors, and co-workers with creative ideas.

We should establish a hit list of 10 people that we are going to win to the Lord. We must target our prayer and power to this hit list.

DISCIPLES WALK

Genesis 17:1
1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

• The enemy wants to affect our walk so he can affect our testimony.
• We must be mindful of our walk so that we are bright shining lights to the world.
• When God says walk, He means in Hebrew staying before His face. God is saying, “Stay in My face.”
• God is telling us to live habitually before Him.
• “What is before you consistently is what you will become.” Phillip Goudeaux
• Two ways the enemy affects men and women’s walk is by what you hear and see.
• We must be on guard regarding what we spend our time on. We must guard and protect our walk.
• We should spend time on the Word and in worship.
• We should be around positive people.
I Kings 2:4
4That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

• Our walk affects not only those around us but those that have authority over us (such as Pastor).
• The failure in the walk of the people has caused some pastors to become discouraged and quit.
• God is interested in us and the leader He has placed over us.
• There is always an excuse why we cannot come to Sunday night service or Wednesday or Thursday night services.
• When the Holy Spirit is speaking, we must be ready to act on what we hear right away.
• God wants our whole heart.
G12 Life Group Notes– May 2, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

• God is not going to show Himself to someone who is serving Him with half a heart.
• Most people are only interested in God when they are in crisis.
• As G12 leaders, we must not allow ourselves to become discouraged.
• We can all step up our game.
• The biggest problem with some who have been at church for awhile is they have moved from revelation to displacement to crystallization to fossilization.
• Fossilization occurs when you are not on fire for God and have lost your zeal. We must ask God to rekindle our love and passion for Him.
Deuteronomy 6:5
5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

• God wants a total commitment.

Deuteronomy 30:2
2And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

• God commands us to obey all of His commandments.

DISCIPLES WALK
Ephesians 1:1-14
Ephesians 2:1-10
• You are careless when you act out of character and think you can do anything without consequences.
• You are either walking the disciples walk with God or you are walking with Satan.
• There is a conduct of the disciple that we must follow. We are not to do what everyone else does. We must not follow the course or fashion of the world.
• Ephesians 2:2 fits everything that we are dealing with in the world today. For example, everything that is wrong is made to look right, and if you stand up for what is right and descent, you are criticized.
• Satan’s job is to allure us with temptations.
• There is a walk the believer is commanded to follow. Ephesians chapter 1 talks about all the blessings of the disciples walk.
• Ephesians chapter 2 talks about what happens when we follow the old walk and what happens when we operate in the new walk.

Ephesians 4:1
• We are to lead a life that shows that there has been a change in us.
• While we are helping others, we are still growing.
• Four key words we deal with each day: decision, change, transition and transformation. These four words are impacting everything in our lives.
• If we want to experience a greater area of transformation and God’s greater blessings, we must walk in a greater area of how we conduct ourselves. We should be in a constant state of changing, and that is working on ourselves.
• When we are dealing with challenges, we become stronger through our victory.
Genesis 17:1
• “You never outgrow the area of growing.” Phillip Goudeaux
• God is not telling us to be perfect; He is telling us to strive for maturity.
• We must work on our mind and flesh every day.
• We must read the Word every day. The devil will fight us each day from spending time with God.
• We should be memorizing scriptures.
• There is a constant warfare in our lives to keep us from growing. We grow by praying, fasting, reading, and memorizing scriptures.
• There can be warfare going to church. The enemy will try to stop you from going to church Sunday night, and Wednesday or Thursday night.
• G12 is about our walk with God and helping others in their walk with God.

The Disciples Walk

Romans 6: 1- 4
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid .How shall we, that are dead to sin,
live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized unto his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father , even so we also should walk in the newness of life.
• There is a walk that every disciple should have.
• People are looking for those that are walking upright.
• We should live in a newness of life.
• A lot of people examine everyone but themselves.
• We need to work on ourselves and any issues that we have.
• All leaders must examine themselves.
• We must be able to take correction.
• A person with the right spirit sees correction as a stepping stone that will make them better.
• We should be emulating Christ in every area.
• When we are under attack from someone, we must recognize that it is God’s battle, not ours.

Ephesians 5: 1 -14
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath
given himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.
• Remember Christ loved us in our sins (when we had done wrong).
• We need to walk in love, even when people viciously attack us.
• When we make a commitment to walk in love, we will have an opportunity to use it.
• We must avoid jesting and gossiping. For example, instead of joining in gossip,
• We should start giving thanks for what God has done in our lives.
• Don’t let anyone talk you out of obeying God.
• We are to walk in newness, as the children of light, not as the children of darkness.
• We were in darkness, and we walked as the children of darkness.
• Therefore, we must make corrections. The 3 areas that will help us walk in the light
• Are understanding God’s goodness, righteousness, and truth.
• We should reach out to the unsaved; however, we should not have intimacy with them.
• We should be prepared to reprove or correct people when they are out of line.
• God commands us to see clearly and be aware of our surroundings.
• We should not look like people that are unsaved or dead.
(Example: if you went to a morgue where there were dead people, if there was someone
stretched out sleeping, they would appear dead). Everyone that is unsaved is dead.

• Don’t be afraid to be different than your counterparts.

G12 Meeting Sunday (4/18/2010) 6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux 2x2

1 Corinthian 15:34
• We must walk in the newness of life. We must have an awareness of who we are in Christ.
• We must walk in love, not hate or bitterness and anger

Isaiah 52: 1
• We have a responsibility of living an aware life. This means not sleeping with the dead or being carnal.

Ephesians 5:15
• We must walk in the newness of life.
• We must walk with God in love.
• We must walk as children of the light.
• We must walk circumspectly

All of the above are a part of the disciple’s walk. It is a personal responsibility of each one of us to make sure we are watching every aspect of our lives.

II Timothy 2:1-2
1Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
• Spiritual warfare, there are battles that go on with our disciples.
• Timothy was a Pastor of the Ephesus Church, and it was going through attacks.
• You don’t find out where people are until there are pressures or attacks.
• The devil tries to locate where you are. He took out 1/3 of the angels. Without Jesus, we don’t stand a chance.
• How we get strong is through reading the Word each day.
• In verse 2, Paul was telling Timothy not to appoint just anyone, but make sure they were tested men.
• Faithfulness tags along with strong commitment, reliability, etc.

G12 is different than open cell. You want to select faithful men/women (reliable, trustworthy). Correction will locate level of commitment. You often cannot tell where a person is until you correct them. You cannot put an immature person into a leadership position.

I Corinthians 4:1-2
1Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
• God is not going to turn things over to an immature person.
• Good character reflects a level of maturity.
• We are all stewards.
• God has put a lot into us and requires a lot of us.
• We must be faithful and prove ourselves worthy of trust.
• When we give people trust, we are giving them power.
• “The way up is service.” Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
II Timothy 2:3-5
3Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
• When you are going through hell, endure it. Stay single-minded and focused.
• When you lose focus, you lose ground.
• You endure by staying in faith. When Peter was walking on water he began to sink because his faith began to drop.
• When you are going through something, there is a lesson to be learned.
• You have to hold your position by staying in faith.
• Our job is to please God. To be a good steward, we must not get entangled in circumstances.
G12 Life Group Notes– April 11, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Page 2 of 2)
• Pastor is challenging us to stay in faith.
• To strive means exertion, effort, strong commitment either physically or mentally.
• Crown refers to a victor’s crown of honor.
• Paul is talking to Timothy about warfare.
• We have to continue to exert and strive to get the victor’s crown.
• Some want the crown without the exertion.
• To make a big difference, we must stay focused.
• The enemy wants to throw us off by creating negative feelings, like people failing to attend G12 meetings.
• We must keep doing what we are doing now and not slow down.
• Our goal is 144 (we have 12 disciples and they have 12 disciples).
• God gives us a mentor. We must be faithful protégés.
• Are you striving to reach our goal of 144? The enemy works hard to stagnate us.
• Maintaining means stagnation or another word is stinking.
• Our exit in life will live longer than our entry.
• When Paul writes lawfully in verse 5, he also means having the right attitude.
• You cannot be a Christian leader and stop striving.
• We must push ourselves and push our people.

John 12:24
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
• In other words, it will reproduce itself many times, once it is dead.

John 12:25
25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
• Holding onto the worldly way of living will not produce spiritual results.
• It will not produce a spiritual life.
• It will reproduce a fleshly death or corruption.
• What does dead or death actually mean? The dictionary defines “dead” as incapable of being emotionally moved or unresponsive (in other words, no feeling or core, lacking sensitivity of feelings).
• The person is not fruitful, they are unproductive, dull, inactive, and without resilience, they cannot bounce back from anything.
• Why are the fleshly attacks so great against G12?
Romans 8:6-9
6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

• After looking at the dictionary definition of “dead” above, and reading the scripture, you’ll better understand why we must die to ourselves in order to really live and run with the vision.

• It will reproduce a fleshly death or corruption
• What does dead or death actually mean?
• Webster’s encyclopedic unabridged dictionary defines dead as :
• Incapable of being emotionally moved ( no feeling, core)
• Lacking sensitivity of feelings
• Not fruitful
• Unproductive
• Dull
• Inactive
• Without resilience ( can not bounce back from anything)
Why are the fleshly attacks so great against G-12
Romans 8 :6-9.
6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace.
7. Because the charnel mind is enmity against God ; for it is not subject to the law
of God, neither indeed can be.
8. So then they that are in the Flesh cannot please God.
9. But ye are not flesh, but in the spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

DECISION – > CHANGE –> TRANSITION –> TRANSFORMATION

• God is trying to break us. When we are broken and changed from our selfish ways, then God can use us.
• Brokenness is the key to enabling change.
• Brokenness is God’s requirement for maximum usefulness.
• Brokenness does not break your spirit or soul, but your will.
• God has a will. Satan has a will. We have a will.
• We need to follow God’s will.
• When you operate in your will, it is characterized by self-righteousness, and self-centeredness.

Psalms 51: 8-13
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

• God wants us to be in position. We speed up the process when we are in position.
• When we are broken, we are teachable.
• We need to confess we have a clean heart. A clean heart is the beginning of being broken.
• The more we follow God’s Word, the easier it is to have fun.
• When you are self-centered, you say, “It’s me doing it.”
• God is looking for an opportunity to break us.
• We should desire for God to use us.
• The more we submit to our man and woman of God, the more our men/women will submit to us.
• Men/women who are unbroken are jealous of those who are broken
• We need a spirit within us that is fixed, confident, and committed to our church.
• We are in our faith walk for the long haul. We must persevere.
• As we are broken, we can be used by God.
• When we are fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit, He is helping us in our areas of weakness.
• God wants to expose our weaknesses so those areas will be strengthened and lined up with the Word of God.

March Miracles/Word Explosion
This month is essential for us and will play a significant role in what God wants to do in our lives this year. We need to make sacrifice this month.

• We are always under warfare. So are our G12 men/women.
• The enemy tries to frustrate our purpose and hinder us from what God has called us to do.
• People need help. God did not save us just for ourselves.
• The enemy fights our walk so people will not see God in us.
• The enemy tries to manipulate us and cause a blemish on our character. If he cannot get us to backslide, he will try and use our spouse or children, etc.
• We must keep on the armor of God. Proverb 24:10 10If thou faint in the day of
adversity, thy strength is small.

Ephesians 5:15
15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
• Your walk is a lifestyle, mindset, attitude, manner, behavior. It is advancing, traveling.
• Our days of being a fool should be over.
• The devil tries to make you look foolish because no one wants to follow a fool.
• Your walk will involve warfare.
• All of us at sometime in our lives have been foolish.
• Sin is easy to get in and hard to get out.

Galatians 6:7
7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Proverbs 4:1-13
1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. 4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. 11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. 12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. 13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
• Any problem we have in our lives is a wisdom problem.
• Wisdom has a way and foolishness has a way. We must choose.
• “Lack in wisdom is to abound in foolishness” – Pastor Phillip Goudeaux
• Wisdom is something you have to go after.
• Anytime wisdom goes forth, the biggest hindrance is receiving it.

G12 Life Group Notes–February 28, 2010–6:30 a.m. Pastor Goudeaux (Pg 2 of 2)

Proverbs 3:13-18
13Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. 17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

• A sign of wisdom is happiness.
• A fool is always unhappy. That is because he has been beat down as a result of being a fool.
• Many people mistakenly think silver or gold (money) is going to make them happy.
• Everyone that gets and keeps wisdom is happy.

March 1st – All Day Fast

I Timothy 6:12
12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

• Satan tries to manipulate our emotions and feelings.
• Everything we do is wrapped around faith.

Romans 10:17
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

• The faith comes by hearing.
• The more we hear the Word, the more faith is going to come into our lives.
• Faith must be acted upon. You must speak it out. For example saying, “I am healed, I am prosperous.”
• Faith is activated through our mouth and through our actions.
• We must understand that our lives are entangled in fighting the good fight of faith.
• The enemy tries to pull us away from what God has for us.

Romans 4:17
17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

• When we are fighting the faith fight we have to call some things that are not as though they were.
• You cannot call those things that already are and say they are not. For example, if you are in a car accident you cannot say I am not in a car accident. You can call yourself healed though.

Matthew 18:15
15Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

• We have a responsibility to tell our brother or sister when they have offended us.
• We can’t be quick to give up on people.
• Remember the process of: decision, change, transition, and transformation. It is a maturing process.

II Corinthians 10: 3-5
3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

• Verse 3 is profound. Most people do not pass the test. We should not try to get back at someone who has hurt us.
• God blesses us according to our ability to fight the good fight of faith.
• G12 is about promotion. God is trying to take us to a new place of promotion in our lives.
• Every promotion has a test. The test comes in many ways.
• There is a test we have to pass as G12 leaders with Pastor and with our G12 men/women.
• When we are praying against something we should also pray against the strongholds associated with it.
• When Paul talks about strongholds he is talking about getting to the core or root of the issue.
• A stronghold is what the enemy uses to anchor the person to sin and things that are anti-Christ.

II Timothy 2:4
4No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
• We must understand we are at war.
• We cannot let stuff pull us away from what God has for us.

I Thessalonians 5:8
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
• Sober means having a clear mind.
• Even when you are saved, it is necessary to put on some things.
• You must put on love. You must watch what you say and what you hear.
• The key words are: sober, putting on, breastplate of faith, and helmet.
Ephesians 6:16-17
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
• Taking the shield means that we have to take it if we are going to get it.
• We must take on a conquering spirit. We have to want to be victorious.
• We have to fight fear, anxiety, lust, and stupidity.
• The biggest thing the enemy tries to attack is our mind.
• Salvation means: health, healing, deliverance, preservation, soundness, safety, and prosperity.
Hebrews 4:12
12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
• We have to keep the Word preeminent in our lives. We have to be in the Word each day.
• If you don’t stay in the Word, the enemy will use deception in your life.
• One of biggest deceptions is self-deception (no one can tell you anything).

Proverbs 18:19
19A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
• The enemy will try to get you offended.
• The enemy wants us to make wrong choices.
• The Word of God is our defense.

II Corinthians 6:7
7By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
• We have to arm ourselves by the Word of truth, which is the Word of God.
• In order to walk in victory, we must understand how to use the armor provided through God’s Word.
NOTE: Pastor asked that we study all of the scriptures noted and see how they tie together.
